Heritage Montreal is a Canadian organization that is dedicated to protect the architectural, historic, natural and cultural heritage of Greater Montreal.[1]It was founded by architectural activist and Canadian Centre for Architecture founder Phyllis Lambert in 1975.[2] It was preceded by the creation of Save Montreal, a volunteer group co-founded by Michael Fish, formed amidst the controversy surrounding the demolition of the Van Horne Mansion.[3]

History

Heritage Montreal played a key role in efforts to halt demolition and redevelopment in the McGill Ghetto, also known as Milton Park.[4]
