"An Isouna Agapi"
Song

"An Isoun Agapi" (Greek: Αν Ήσουν Αγάπη; English: If you were love) is the first single by Greek singer Elena Paparizou from her fifth studio album Giro Apo T'Oneiro, written by Giorgos Sabanis and Niki Papatheohari.

Composition

The music was composed by singer-songwriter Giorgos Sabanis while the lyrics were written by Niki Papatheohari.[1] The song is an uptempo ballad.[1]

Release

Originally, "Girna Me Sto Htes" was set to be released as the lead single from Giro Apo T'Oneiro.[2] Paparizou was supposed to debut the track as well as her other new material on the live final of the second series of the Greek The X Factor on 12 February, as ANT1 had invited her to perform.[citation needed] The track would have been released afterward.[citation needed] However, Sony Music, who owns the rights to The X Factor artists, was in a conflict with one of the judges, songwriter Giorgos Theofanous, thereon cutting ties with him musically.[3][4] Paparizou wanted to appear on the show as she had not been receiving any media attention since her hiatus, her last television appearance having been many months before, however, she was not permitted by her label due to the afforementioned controversy and instead, the show's presenter, musician Sakis Rouvas performed a compilation of his hits.[5] However, Ivi Adamou, who was part of the conflict and was signed with Sony Music, performed her new song on the shows finale proving those rumors false.[citation needed]

"An Isoun Agapi" was then announced as the lead single, with a release date set for 25 February.[1] However, the song debuted exclusively on Dromos FM 89.8[6] one day earlier.[7] The radio station announced a contest for its audience coinciding with the lead single's release date: the winners will get the chance to meet Paparizou and hear her new album before it is released on 28 February 2010 at seven pm at an undisclosed venue.[6][8]

Music video

Paparizou furthered her collaboration with soft drink company Ivi, which is currently holding a contest, with the winners appearing in Paparizou's newest music video for the brand in promotion of their "vges sto gyali" (get the glass) slogan.[9]
