Controversy
PSI is currently under investigation by several law enforcement agencies and has had class action lawsuits filed against them on behalf of shareholders. PSI is the owner of facilities where patient deaths have occurred. PSI has a facility in Bradenton, Florida- namely Manatee Palms Youth Services that has been shut down twice in three years by the State of Florida for patients being physically and sexually assaulted by staff.
A detailed series of articles published by The Los Angeles Times in conjunction with ProPublica exposed many of the crimes of abuse and negligence at PSI facilities nationwide.
