Nino Firetto (born Anthony Firetto) is a radio presenter, TV host and voice over artist, currently based in Exeter, England.[1][2]

Biography

Firetto began his radio career filling in at Radio 210 in Reading and Radio Victory in Portsmouth. He was then signed to the English version of Radio Luxembourg, before moving to the newly launched Radio West in Bristol.

After a short period hosting the breakfast show, he moved to weekends to present a children's show called Nino's Gang. As West's programme schedule changed over time, Nino's Gang moved to Sunday afternoons and later became mixed with a chart music and was re-named the Charty Party. In September 1984, Nino began presenting the weekday evening Music Magazine as West went back into the night.[3]

After 2 years with Radio west, Nino left in 1984 to pursue a career in television, firstly in the Children's ITV magazine programme Splash!. He later presented a modern version of the seminal ITV quiz show Mr. and Mrs.,[4] but retained his contact with radio, presenting on Galaxy 101 and on a national satellite service called "Night Tracks".

In 2000, Nino became the Morning Host on Kestrel FM in Basingstoke. Then in February 2001, Nino moved to present the weekday drive programme for Wave 105, the English regional station for the South coast. He remained there until June 2003.

In June 2007, he moved to the USA to work as weekend afternoon host and swing jock for Adult Top 40 music station KLLC Alice 97.3 in San Francisco, California.

Returning to the UK, Nino now presents weekday breakfast and Saturday afternoons on Exeter FM in Devon.[5][6]

Following an on going joke between Nino and the editor of the Express & Echo newspaper in Exeter, Nino donned Speedo-style swimwear for his radio show to raise money for a local charity. Through the challenge, Nino raised £250 for 'Dream-A-Way'.[7][8]
