This doyen's journey in the Tamil film world began in Modern Theatres in 1947, when he joined as Senior Assistant to T. R Sundaram, coaching artistes in dialogue delivery. He worked with Chief Minister M Karunanidhi in `Mandirikumari and with all the major artistes of the time, including T R Mahalingam, Anjali Devi and Madhuri Devi. Other stalwarts he assisted were Veena S Balachandar and L V Prasad. He worked with Director K.Ramanath as Assistant along with K.S.Sethumathavan(Malayalam Famous).

He worked with evergreen music directors G.Ramanathan,S.Balachandar K V Mahadevan, M S Viswanathan,G.Devarajan,V.Kumar& Illayaraja & Deva. MSV still address him as `Cheenu Anna. The film `Andha Naal in which he assisted S Balachander was the first film without songs that was made in Madras. This novel attempt became a sensational hit.

He started producing Films with his Brother Muktha V.Ramaswamy in the name"Muktha Films" in 1962. Mr.Muktha Ramaswamy had good experiance in making films& finance Control, as he had worked with Mordern Theatre Sundaram, Bell Pictures, Narayanan Company (who were Producing & Distribting, Exhibiting Films)

The famous director K Balachandar has written the story and dialogue for the film `Pujaiku vandha malar'.produced by Mukthas. He worked with Sivaji and MGR,SSR,Geminiganesan, Muthuraman, RaviChandran, JaiShankar,Sivakumar, Rajnikanth and kamal Hassan Nagesh,Cho, Sarojadevi, Jayalalitha,Manorama,Lakshmi.Mr.Cho had written Story & Dialogues for most of his films. Vaali, the famous lyricist, actresses Devika, Deepa and many others were introduced to the silver screen by him. He brought to light Actor- Director Mouli's acting prowess in his film `Suryakanthi'. Visu, the dramatist, became Visu, the film maker after working in his `Keezh vaanam sivakkum. He has received numerous awards, held illustrious posts, won respect wherever his name is mentioned. Today, he is the senior-most director in the Tamil film industry

Muktha Srinivasan directed his first film `Mudalali' in 1957, making it in four months and three days. This was a rare feat in those days, when films took more than a year to be completed. The film was a resounding success even though it had a relatively unknown star cast. It won a National Award, presented by Dr Rajendra Prasad, then President of India, in the presence of Pandit Nehru.

Politics

Muktha Srinivasan was attracted to politics even at age Of 7(1937- Pre-Independence Period - Madras Presidency), Where ShriC.RajaGopalachari Contested & won for Indian National Congress as Chief Minister. He used carry the FLAG Symbol of Congress on Pad and went to various places around his village. That was his First canvassing for Congress Party. His relatives asked him to concentrate on studies and stopped him to do canvassing due to the age factor.

After completing his school, he practiced Type-writing and Short hand wrinting. There he met Mr. Somu Rao, who influenced him to Communist ideology. He bacame close friend to ManaliKandasamy, & Amirthalingam,Bala Dandayutham & P.Ramamoorthy. This made him to meet Comarade Jeevanandham. Jeeva became intimate and both organised meetings in various places of Tamil nadu.This was time, while working in a govt office at selam in 1946, The communist party was banned. He lost his job and was arrested in selam. His brother Mr. Muktha Ramasamy who was working with Modern theatre approached his boss Mr Sundaram and sorted his help to release Muktha srinivasan from Jail.Mr.Sundaram diverted him to Films. The communist ideology did not change. Even in his films like Mudalali, Naalu Veli Nilam (written by Thi. Janakiraman-Receipent of Sahithya acadamy Award ) & Thamarai kulam, he used to influence the Communism Ideology. When disputes started fuming in Communist Party. He lost his interest. This was the stage, he used to read lot of books. He was inspired by Gandhian principle and Joined in congress in 1961 under the leadership of K.Kamaraj. Mr. Gk Moopanar was his School friend in Victoria Board High School- Papanasam.Tanjore dist. Mr Kamaraj asked him work with Chinna Annamalai. While working With Sivaji Ganesan, he started to oraganise meetings. He Canvassed for 1962 election and gave speeches supporting Congress under the leadership of K.Kamaraj.

He used wear Khadi kadar dothi& shirt. Even in Moscow, where it was freezing Cold, he went around to all the places,wearing Kadar dothi and kadhar shirt.

He use to follow "Mouna-Viradham". He will not speak and will have only water on those days. In early days, he used to spin his clothes. (with Raatai chakkaram -Hand machine) He canvassed 20 point Programme thro medias(Radio& Tv) and meetings.

When Gk moopanar started Tamil Maanila COngress in 1996.He appointed him as Gen Secretary. Mr Gk Vasan Merged Tamil maanila COngress With Indian National Congress. He is now working Under the Leadership Mrs Sonia Gandhi He Contested parliment election for South Chennai.
