Dale Obert (born November 14, 1970 in McMinnville, Oregon, USA) is an American cinematographer working in Los Angeles.

Career

Obert began filmmaking in LA years ago under the tutelage of cinematographers Michael Grady, "Wonderland (2003 movie)" and Jaime Reynoso, (A.M.C.), DP of NBC's "Persons Unknown".

His last ten features have taken him to six countries, which include shooting award winning, "Runt" in Paris, London, Belgium and Jamaica. This project earned him a cinematography nod, "Technical Excellence" at Roxbury Film Festival in Boston, and his work on fantasy feature, "Adam West's Tales from Beyond" recently won at Shockerfest. The prestigious ADDY Awards honored Dale and director Lee Romaire for PSA, "Don't Feed the Bears". He has also worked as lighting cameraman on Emmy nominated Extra (TV series), Street Smarts (game show), Subaru Legacy (first generation) commercial with Mel Gibson, and was a longtime gaffer for the late cinematographer Neal Fredericks (The Blair Witch Project).

Obert has also photographed Beni Tadd Atoori's award winning feature, "Chasing Happiness" starring Cerina Vincent, Kashmira Shah and Elisa Donovan. The film was captured with high end HD Thomson Grass Valley VIPER camera system.

His current feature is Lee Romaire's sci-fi thriller, "Let's Eat Lolly" filming in Mojave Desert and New Orleans. It stars Kashmira Shah and English actor Phil Jackson, and set for release in 2011.
