Janine Gordon

Jah Jah, also known as MC Jah Jah, is the professional name of Janine Gordon, a white, female rapper, photographer and multimedia artist from Brooklyn, New York.

Rap career

Jah Jah, was given her rap name from her old neighborhood Greenpoint amongst her grafitti writer friends she was rapping, and creating art with. In D.U.M.B.O she began to take rapping more serious and spent time in Faragut projects in local cyphers and local studios. She was always around many artists and producers Redman, Chubb Rock, and The Beatnuts where it became a natural progression to take it to the next level of production. In 2002 she released her first album "The Art of Hip Hop" with E-Magine music, recorded with Chubb Rock. In 2004 she moved to Brazil and worked with some local Brasilian musicians mixing Samba , Hip Hop and Reggae. She preformed in many clubs in Brazil as in France, Germany, Denmark and the local clubs of Brooklyn. In 2005-6 she released her second album "Take a Lick Take a Bite" of material recorded in Brasil and a mixed tape called "Musica do Brasil". In 2006-7 She released The Attack with producer, Quickmix in Berlin, with very catchy hits such as "Here Pussy Pussy" , "Pop That" , "More Cheeba" and "Do you Think I'm Sexy?" , which reached over 400.000 hits on Jah Jah's original myspace. In 2010 she released "Intelligence Report" a 3 songs EP that is politically inspired.

.[1] She has a very wide fan base on Myspace and has experienced some success with her music overseas in Brazil.[2] Jah Jah was able to remain within the top 10 artists for over a year on the Myspace music chart.[3]
