Career

Zeiger is a senior fellow at the American Civil Rights Union, a non-profit organization that promotes the U.S. Constitution. His articles have appeared in publications like the Seattle Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Philadelphia Inquirer, and Baltimore Sun. He profiled the South Hill Boy Scout troop that has been home to three generations of Zeigers for a recent cover story in American Legion magazine. These writings can be found at http://generouspeople.blogspot.com/

Recent

For several years, Zeiger has worked as an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 174. Also, in 2002 Hans served on the Puyallup Veteran’s Memorial Dedication Committee, and in 2007 he began a project to document the stories of Puyallup’s World War II veterans. In 2008 and 2009, Hans wrote a monthly column about "hometown heroes" in the Puyallup Herald, and he is a member of the Ezra Meeker Historical Society, South Hill Historical Society, and Fife Historical Society. He serves on the Puyallup/Sumner Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee, volunteers for the Puyallup Fair Foundation’s history program, and he is a member of the Cascade Land Conservancy. Zeiger is currently running for the Washington State House of Representatives in the 25th District.

Controversial Statements

Zeiger has come under criticism from local media commentators [3][4] for controversial statements that allege the Girl Scouts of America have strayed away from their principles, approved of homosexual members, and promoted feminist ideals that in Zeigers's view do not promote the common welfare of women or society. Zeiger commented on their straying from principle by calling the Girls Scouts of America "Radical feminists, lesbians, and cookie peddlers..."[5]

After 9/11, Zeiger also wrote that America must stand up to radical Islam and protect ourselves from those who would seek to harm America, stating that some radical Muslim Americans are part of the "The cult of Islam" calling it an "evil in our world that will destroy souls and nations if conservatives don’t unite against it" and adding "we must first unite against Islam."[6]

Zeiger has denied that Episcopalians are Christians.[7] He has criticized “Unitarians, mainstream Baptists, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, members of the ‘Military Pagan Network’ and other watered-down ecumenists.”[8]

He labeled the PTA "decadent"[9] and his public school as the “local government indoctrination center.”[10] He believes "government is not meant to be in the college-aid business."[11]

Now 25, Zeiger wrote these articles as a teenager, and has since removed many postings from the Internet that no longer represent his current views.[12]. Cached copies remain on newspapers, Google, and Wayback.
