Aaron Gwyn was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and is an American short story author and novelist.[1]. He received his PhD in English from the University of Denver and now is an associate professor of English at University of North Carolina - Charlotte where he teaches fiction writing and contemporary American fiction. He is the author of the short story collection, Dog on the Cross (Algonquin Books, 2004) and of the novel, The World Beneath (W.W. Norton, 2009). His fiction has appeared in New Stories From the South, Esquire, McSweeney's, Glimmer Train, The Gettysburg Review, and numerous other literary magazines. Dog on the Cross was a finalist for the 2005 New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Award founded by actor Ethan Hawke and author Rick Moody.[2]
