Lygodium microphyllum is a climbing fern originating in tropical Africa, South East Asia, Melanesia and Australia.[1] It is an invasive weed[2] in the US States of Florida and Alabama[citation needed] where it invades open forest and wetland areas. It is also commonly known as the Old World climbing fern, small leaf climbing fern, climbing maidenhair, and snake fern.
