Love's Unfolding Dream is a Christian Drama and the sixth TV movie based on a series of books by Janette Oke and second to air in 2007. It originally aired on Hallmark Channel on December 15, 2007. It was directed by Harvey Frost. It is the sixth movie in an ongoing series that includes Love Comes Softly (2003), Love's Enduring Promise (2004), Love's Long Journey (2005), and Love's Abiding Joy (2006), Love's Unending Legacy (2007), and Love Takes Wing (2009). The final installment of the series, Love Finds a Home will air April 11, 2009.[1][2]
Plot
Belinda Tyler (Scout Taylor-Compton) wants to be a doctor, but women were not usually permitted careers, especially one in the medical field. But Belinda deeply wants a career as a doctor, and feels God has called her to be one. She learns to show her abilities while helping out a local doctor and caring for Mrs. Stafford-Smith (Nancy Linehan Charles),an elderly woman who recently had a stroke.
Belinda nurses her back to health and helps her regain the use of her right arm. Belinda meets the nephew of their deceased neighbor, Drew Simpson. Drew (Patrick Levis) comes to town to get his uncle's farm in shape to sell and then return to New York to join his father's law practice. He does not want to stay in this small, unsophisticated town.
But after meeting Belinda, he has second thoughts about staying. Belinda also feels something for Drew, but she is conflicted because she wants to become a doctor and then move back home so her loved ones can still get medical care from her. Even though most women of the time only married and had children, Belinda wants more.
She has a calling and a great mind for medicine. Determined that it won't work between her and Drew, Belinda plans to leave to study medicine in Boston, with financial help from Mrs. Stafford-Smith. But after hearing Belinda's grandfather share how he felt about his wife, Marty, and how he knew of his feelings for her, Drew realizes that he can't live without Belinda.
Just as Belinda boards the stage coach, Drew arrives telling her he loves her. He is willing to practice law in Boston while she is in school. They will move back to this small town together once she becomes a doctor, if that's what she wants.
He asks for her to marry him. Knowing she feels the same way for him, Belinda accepts and finally admits to Drew that she loves him too. She and Drew are married with her family and friends present before they move to Boston together.

Differences From The Novel
- In the novel, Belinda becomes a nurse for her brother, Luke Davis. She is also 11-16 years old in the novel.
- Dr. Jackson is a possible reference to Jackson Brown, a boy whom went to school with Belinda, and later becomes a doctor working with Luke Davis, in the books.
- How Belinda and Drew Simpson meet in the novel is different than in the film. In the novel, Belinda is with Luke when he removes Drew's arm after it is crushed in a logging accident. Drew later saves her after she is thrown from her horse. They get married in the novel Love Finds a Home. Drew's mother is also alive, and he also has a younger brother.
- Aaron (Clare in the novel) and Arnie are not shown in the film, nor any of their family that are all mentioned in the novel.
- Belinda's care for Virginia Stafford-Smyth after she has a stroke takes place in Love Takes Wing. She became ill on the train and was brought to Luke's office. Windsor came later to see her. Virginia is said to have two grandsons whom she raised after her son and his wife died. It is stated in the film that her son never had kids. Belinda later returned to Boston with her.
