Metals is the fourth studio album by Feist, scheduled to be released on October 4, 2011 in the US & Canada, October 3, 2011 in the United Kingdom and on September 30, 2011 in the Republic Ireland, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden and Belgium. [1][2][3]. Promotion for the album began with short viral videos which featured snippets of tracks and making of the album which featured on her website and other social networking sites. Artwork for the album was revealed on August 2, 2011[4], previously fans were given the opportunity to select the color design for the album cover, the overall winner was announced on her facebook page. It was announced on August 12, 2011 the first single from the album is "How Come You Never Go There"[5]. The single will be released in late September 2011. As of September 26, 2011 the album has leaked onto the internet.

The album is supported by a European and North American tour which kicks off in Amsterdam, Netherlands on October 15 and finishes December 6 in Quebec City, Quebec[6].
