[[Category:Wikipedia wp:bais|List of bad article ideas]]

The following is a list of article ideas that show up repeatedly in Articles for deletion. Please think twice before creating an article about any of the following:

  • Yourself or your organization.
  • A band of which you are a member or employee.
  • The street you live on (unless a verifiable encyclopedia article can be written about it).
  • The nursery school you used to attend (unless a verifiable encyclopedia article can be written about it).
  • Another article on an existing topic (you can edit the existing article). Use the Search button. It's there for a reason.
  • Your dormitory (unless it's on the Historic Register, or for some other reason, a good, verifiable encyclopedia article can be written on it).
  • Your club, society, fraternity, sorority or any other school/college group (unless it's verifiable, and a good article can be written).
  • Secret societies that are truly secret, and other secret information that is being revealed for the first time. (Unless it's being revealed by a reliable source, and is verifiable, see Wikipedia:No original research)
  • Anything which you cannot be bothered to write one complete sentence about.
  • Anything which is so unverifiable that only hardcore fans of [topic] would know about; e.g., starships from the Star Trek universe or fanon that have never been shown nor mentioned in a television episode or movie.
  • An article you have written while tired and emotional or under the influence of recreational substances.
  • Any article written while in a highly emotional state or reflecting personal opinions.
  • A new article to supplement an already existing one which you think is not putting your point across forcefully enough.
