I understand that Wikipedia is not for corporate purposes and that I must clearly state my conflict of interest and denote any changes that I would like to see made to pages with which I am commercially involved on the talk page, and not to the content directly. I will only edit directly the pages with which I do not have a conflict of interest, and will, in no way, promote the commercial services of or provide anything that could be seen as marketing for the company by which I am employed. I hope to be a positive contributor to the encyclopedic content across wikipedia, adding only information for which I have reputable sources and about subjects with which I have no commercial interest. January 2012

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. However, I noticed that your username (Vantagepartners) may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it violates WP:GROUPNAME. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account to use for editing. Thank you. Alexf(talk) 19:56, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

Welcome

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions seem to be advertising or for promotional purposes. Wikipedia does not allow advertising. For more information on this, see:

If you still have questions, there is a new contributor's help page, or you can write {{helpme}} below this message along with a question and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia:

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 20:40, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
What can I do now?
You are still welcome to write about something other than your company, organization, or clients. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Requested username:

Request reason:

The username was originally created to update a page for which our company is one of the experts in the field, that previously contained only content from one organization (State of Flux), including direct links to their website and encouragement for people to take their surveys, which puts them on marketing lists. Instead, we worked together with leading industry organizations to compile a list of reference materials and draft a new article using sources that highlight best practices. I was in the process of adding additional citations to the material when my account was blocked. I did not realize having the company name included was wrong and am willing to change to a personal user name. I would also like to contribute objective, third-party material to other pages about supply chain management. Please read the page supplier relationship management to see that there is no bias in what has been written. Rather, the bias previously existed was removed.

Decline reason:

Given that you referenced everything you added back to your company's website, your claims don't quite add up I'm afraid. Please also take the time to review WP:COI - you should not be writing about a topic with which you have a commercial relationship. Nick-D (talk) 10:54, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:
OrangeMike and I have corresponded regarding this issue and he recommended that rather than editing the page, I make recommendations/citation adds to the talk page - noting my conflict of interest - then a person without a conflict of interest can determine whether or not the changes are appropriate. I'm completely willing to do this. Given this shift, would it be possible to change my username to a personal username and unblock the account, so I can make those comments on the talk page?

Administrators should consider discussing any unblock with the blocking administrator (see the blocking policy).

Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, please place {{subst:Unblock on hold-notification | 1=Ahat135}} on the administrator's talk page. Then replace this template with the following:

{{unblock-un on hold | 1=blocking administrator | 2=ahatc135 | 3=OrangeMike and I have corresponded regarding this issue and he recommended that rather than editing the page, I make recommendations/citation adds to the talk page - noting my conflict of interest - then a person without a conflict of interest can determine whether or not the changes are appropriate. I'm completely willing to do this. Given this shift, would it be possible to change my username to a personal username and unblock the account, so I can make those comments on the talk page? | 4=~~~~}}

If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following:

{{unblock-un reviewed | 1=ahatc135 | reason=OrangeMike and I have corresponded regarding this issue and he recommended that rather than editing the page, I make recommendations/citation adds to the talk page - noting my conflict of interest - then a person without a conflict of interest can determine whether or not the changes are appropriate. I'm completely willing to do this. Given this shift, would it be possible to change my username to a personal username and unblock the account, so I can make those comments on the talk page? | accept=Allowing username change to requested username. Please select an option from [[Wikipedia:Changing username]] and file a request as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. ~~~~}}

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following, replacing {{subst:Decline reason here}} with any specific rationale. If you do not edit the text after "decline=", a default reason why the request was declined will be inserted.

{{unblock-un reviewed | 1=ahatc135 | reason=OrangeMike and I have corresponded regarding this issue and he recommended that rather than editing the page, I make recommendations/citation adds to the talk page - noting my conflict of interest - then a person without a conflict of interest can determine whether or not the changes are appropriate. I'm completely willing to do this. Given this shift, would it be possible to change my username to a personal username and unblock the account, so I can make those comments on the talk page? | decline={{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}
