Hemerocoetes morelandi is a duckbill of the genus Hemerocoetes, found only around the Auckland Islands and Campbell Island to the south of the South Island of New Zealand, at depths of between 20 and 100 metres. Their length is between 10 and 25 centimetres.
Hemerocoetes morelandi is very similar to the closely related opalfish.
