James Nash (born 16 December 1985 in Milton Keynes) is a British auto racing driver. He is currently competing in the World Touring Car Championship with Team Aon. On 16 October 2011 at the final round of the 2011 BTCC season James Nash clinched the independents championship.

Racing career

Nash raced in karting until 2005 when he started racing in Formula Ford cars. In 2007 he finished runner-up in the British Formula Ford Championship, his second year in the national series. He decided to turn his back on single seater racing and moved into touring cars, racing in the SEAT León Eurocup, a support series for the World Touring Car Championship with WTCC team SUNRED Engineering. He finished fifth in the championship. He made the step up to the BTCC in 2009 after being linked with Tempus Sport he completed a deal to race a third Chevrolet Lacetti for RML, making his debut in the fourth meeting of the season at Oulton Park.[1] He was running in second place in his ninth BTCC race at Snetterton when he made contact with Airwaves BMW driver Rob Collard, who went spinning off the track before rejoining in a heavy collision with the BMW of Stephen Jelley. Nash went on to win the race but was excluded for his part in the incident.

One national win and eight club wins. Finished the season in second place. 2005 Raced BRDC Championship with Zetec Formula Ford Van Diemen. One win, two poles, two fastest laps, one second and one third out of the six races. Competed in the non championship race and finished second. Raced Formula Ford Zeus class. 2006 Raced Formula Ford Duratec National Championship with Fluid motorsport. Finished 5th in the championship. Nominated for the McLaren Autosport Awards. 2007 Raced Formula Ford Duratec National Championship with Kevin Mills Racing. 15 podiums - 1 win, 9 seconds, 5 thirds, 4 fourths and 3 sixths. Finished 2nd overall in the championship. Nominated for the McLaren Autosport Awards final 15. 2nd in the Walter Hayes trophy, awarded rising stars status. Van Diemens test and development driver for 2007. Tested F3 National Class with Fluid Motorsport. Tested a Spanish F3 car at Silverstone with Team West-Tec. 2008 Seat Leon 2008 Euro cup with Sun Red. Finished the championship in joint 4th. 2009 BTCC half season with Works Chevrolet RML Team. 1 win on track. 2010 BTCC with Triple Eight Racing - Podium finisher and top three qualifier. 18 September 2011 James won his first race with 888 Vauxhall. 2011 Took part in the Dubai 24 hour race managing to put the car on pole in the qualifying session. Finishing his first full season in the BTCC as Independent Champion, the only driver to finish every race, and resulting 5th in the overall standings. He also took his first win in British GT4 with Lotus, and took the win for the Walter Hayes Trophy.

Media career

In 2011 Nash furthered his media career by working with various production companies in a Stunt Driving and Driver Consultancy role appearing in Charlie Simpsons hit single 'Cemetery' and working alongside Dot Rotten in his 2011 release 'Keep it on a low'. James has also been published in the Sunday Mail and is working on a number of TV commercials.
