The Pack A.D. is a garage rock duo from Vancouver, BC. Formed in 2006, The Pack A.D. consists of singer/songwriter/guitarist Becky Black and drummer/songwriter Maya Miller.[1] The Pack A.D. has so far released four studio albums on Mint Records.[2]

Style and influence

Musical styles include garage rock, pop, punk and blues.[3]

Themes and other influences

In the past, the guitar/drums duo has been compared to The White Stripes, The Kills, and The Black Keys by reviewers. The band has been evolving away from their early sound first with their 3rd album, we kill computers, and now continuing with their upcoming 2011 release, Unpersons.[4]

Tintype consists of seventeen original tracks. Starting off with heavy blues/rock tunes such as “Gold Rush” and “All Damn Day Long”, it melts into the softer tacks of Pilot’s Blues and Hardtack Saloon #1. The album is guitar and drum based, except for the three “Hardtack” tracks which all feature melodic piano. Tintype was voted No. 1 Album of 2007 at CiTR 101.9 FM.[5]

The Pack A.D.’s second album Funeral Mixtape was released August 12, 2008 under Mint Records.[2] It consists of 11 tracks in the same blues rock style as Tintype.
