Enrique Ricardo Murciano (born July 9, 1973) is an American actor. He is best known for playing Special Agent Danny Taylor in the CBS drama Without a Trace.[1]

Early life

Born and raised in Miami, Florida,[2] Murciano attended Christopher Columbus High School and then Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.[3] He originally studied at New England School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts, for a time, but ultimately decided to pursue an acting career. Eventually, he moved to Los Angeles, California, acquiring a role in the 1997 action film Speed 2: Cruise Control and has been an actor ever since.

Career

He made his feature film debut in Traffic, and then appeared in the 2001 film Black Hawk Down. It was here that he met Jerry Bruckheimer, leading to him being offered a role in Without a Trace. He portrayed Danny Taylor from 2002 until 2009. This role earned him two nominations from the ALMA Award in 2008 and in 2009.[4][5]

His additional film credits include a large supporting role in Miss Congeniality 2 as Jeff Foreman, How to Go Out on a Date in Queens, The Lost City, Máncora as Iñigo and LA Suite. He was also seen on the short-lived MTV soap opera "Spyder Games" in 2001 as Francisco Torres. He also appeared in the music video "Yes We Can" and in the video directed by Demi Moore "Presidential Pledge".

Personal life

He is of Cuban descent, and speaks fluent Spanish as shown in Without a Trace in season 4: episode 6 titled "Viuda Negra" (Spanish for "black widow"). Murciano was in a relationship with British actress Lily Cole. In February 2011, the pair broke up after two and half years of dating.[6]

In 2006, People magazine ranked him #7 in its annual list of "The Sexiest Men Alive".[7]
