Aryind Singh Mewar,the today Maharana of Udaipur, is the highest ranking of the Rajput royal ancestry, the guerrior clans ruled Rajasthan,the "Land of great Kings”, for centuries. The tutelary deity of the dynasty is shree Eklingnath, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. This Royal dynasty is one of the oldest ruling families of the world. It traces its roots to Guhaditya in 569 A.D. and it has had a reign of unbroken succession and continuity for over 1400 years. The ancestry of the house of Mewar originates from Bappa (734 A.D.), he is the true founding father of the dynasty \’Vorld famous fortress Chittorgarh, which is situated on top of a hill, was the earlier capital of this dynasty Later, new capital Udaipur was founded in 1559 A.D. by lvlaharana Udai Singh, along the shores of lake Pichola, It is one of the most romantic and fascinating city of India,popularly known as “the city of 1akes". Shri Aryind Singh Mewar born on 13th December 1944 is the grandson of Lieut General his late highness Maharana Sir Shree Bhupal Singhji of Udaipur. "Maharana Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur, Chairman and Managing Trustee, Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation (born 13 December 1944) is the younger son of Late Maharana Bhagwat Singh ji Mewar (year of demise 1984).

After the demise of Late Maharana Bhagwat Singh ji Mewar of Udaipur, his elder son, now Shriji Mahendra Singh ji Mewar of Udaipur was recognized as the Head of the Family in a public ceremony ("Tilak")that took place in Udaipur. Maharana Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur however has since, against all custom, traditions, and contemporary laws been trying to convince all and sundry that he is the Head of the Family. The Estate of Late Maharana Bhagwat Singh ji Mewar of Udaipur has been declared a H.U.F (Hindu United Family - Joint Family) by the Income Tax Tribunal in 1981 and is subject to a partition suit since 1983. Stay orders have been applicable on this Estate since and the activities initiated, expanded, alterations undertaken by Maharana Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur have been during the pendancy of these orders.

Maharana Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur place of residence is Shikarbadi. On the demise of Late Maharana Bhagwat Singh ji Mewar of Udaipur, and after the "Tilak" ceremony of Shriji Mahendra Singh ji Mewar of Udaipur, parts of the Palace, specifically those in which Late Maharana Bhagwat Singh ji Mewar of Udaipur was residing were sealed by Shriji Mahendra Singh ji Mewar of Udaipur. Against orders of the High Court of "RAJASTHAN", the government / administration handed over these parts to Maharana Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur for which a contempt petition is under adjudication before the Supreme Court of India. Shriji Mahendra Singh ji Mewar of Udaipur has been permitted by the Supreme Court of India to take steps to repossess these parts of the Palace. It is under these circumstances that Maharana Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur has been residing in the City Palace.

Maharana Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur is a graduate of the Mayo College, Ajmer and is married to Princess Vijayaraj of Kutch, Gujarat, they have been blessed with three children: Princess Bhargavi Mewar of Udaipur, Princess Padmaja Mewar of Udaipur and Prince Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur. His two daughters are married. The elder one is married to Rajkumar of Ghanerao sadri, while younger one in a royal family of Gujarat.

The Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation has served as an inspiration to mankind by applauding outstanding achievement as described below:

(1) "Haldi Ghati Award" - Instituted in 1982-83 - Recent Recipient - Mr.Shekhar Gupta, New Delhi (2005), Ms.Tavleen Singh, New Delhi (2008).

(2) "Hakim Khan Sur Award" - Instituted in 1986-87 - Prestigious Recipient - Dr.Harivansh Rai Bachchan (Received by his son), Mumbai (2001), Ms.Lata Mangeshkar, Mumbai (2002), Mr.Sampooran Singh Kalra (famously known as "GULZAR"), Mumbai (2007).

(3) "Maharana Udai Singh Award" - Instituted in 1996-97 - Prestigious and Recent Recipient - Mr.Kishan Babu Rao Hazare (Famously known as "ANNA"), Pune (2004), Dr.Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan, Bangalore (2008).

(4) "Colonel James Tod Award" - Instituted in 1996-97 - Recent Recipient - Dr.Chitranjan Singh Ranawat, U.S.A (2001), Prof.Lloyd I. Rudolph and Prof. Susanne H. Rudolph, U.S.A (2007).

(5) "Panna Dhai Award" - Instituted in 1997-98 - Prestigious and Recent Recipient - Prof.A.P.J Abdul Kalam, Chennai (2002), Ms.Aruna Roy, Rajsamand (2008), Mr.Karambir Singh Kang, Mumbai (2009)

NOTE: The "PRESTIGIOUS" title of "MAHARANA" must be given to a person who fulfills any of the described below conditions:

(1) Must have been born in a "Royal Family" and has seen a minimum of seventy spring season. (2) Must have contributed in the welfare of "POOR PEOPLE" and "FARMERS". (3) Must have been elected by the people of the Indian state. (Ref. "INSTITUTION OF DEMOCRACY")

NOTE: THESE ABOVE SAID CONDITIONS ARE APPLICABLE ONLY ON "ROYAL FAMILY" MEMBERS.

Tilak: It is a "Hindu" religion tradition of accepting a person in to one's family/worship/selection of heir to the abolished throne - A "Throne is full of Thorns" and is just a piece of wooden chair covered with velvet.

Udaipur: It is an old city of "RAJASTHAN" mainly famous for its "Blue Colored Architecture"/"Museum"/"Forts".

Mewar: It is mainly famous due to the magnificent valor/struggle/sacrifice shown by "MAHARANA PRATAP" against the then, "EMPEROR AKBAR". That is, "MAHARANA PRATAP" never surrendered even after the defeat at the "BATTLE OF HALDI GHATI". "MAHARANA PRATAP" lived in jungle and ate bread made up of "GRASS" but, never he accepted defeat and fought till the very end of his life.

Even "EMPEROR AKBAR" stated that "MAHARANA PRATAP" was the only person he was unable to defeat in his entire life.
