This is a maintenance category, used for maintenance of the Wikipedia project. It is not part of the encyclopedia and contains non-article pages, or groups articles by status rather than subject. Do not include this category in content categories.

This is a hidden category. It is not shown on its member pages, unless the corresponding user preference (Appearance → Show hidden categories) is set.

Usage

Add {{Parent monthly clean-up category}} to the top of maintenance categories that have monthly dated subcategories.

Parameters:

• 1= Name of template used to place pages in this category
• 2= Sortkey for this category in its parent categories
• 3,4= optional other templates that also place pages in this category
• backlog= if set, marks the page with {{backlog}}
• container= adds container category notice
• tracking= adds tracking category notice
• polluted= sets polluted category status

The template sets the Category:Wikipedia maintenance categories sorted by month.
