The National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS) is an organization that was formed in 1965 to serve as a voice for all state chartered Credit unions. NASCUS is the only defender for state chartered credit unions, which is to say that NASCUS represents state agencies in front of Congress and acts as a liaison to federal agencies, including the National Credit Union Administration. The Credit Union Advisory Council, advisors to NASCUS, works to protect state authority, promote regulatory innovation, and to promote diversity within the state-chartered system.

Organization

The Credit Union Advisory Council consists of state credit union representatives and NASCUS' Dual Chartering Benefactor members, which are state credit union leagues, federal credit unions, law firms dedicated to credit unions, national credit union trade groups and credit union share insurers.
