Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist (魔界王子 devils and realist) is a Japanese manga series written by Madoka Takadono and illustrated by Utako Yukihiro. An anime adaptation has been announced.[1]

- Protagonist. Orphan. The reincarnation of King Solomon (human king, master of intelligence, wise man), though he has no recollection of his past life. Currently son of a noble family older than that of the royal family. Considers himself a realist. Has lofty dreams of high class society for his future. The top of his class three years running at Stratford school and also a 5th-year prefect there. Retains an ability to negate demonic powers of Solomon's pillars. As a descendant of Solomon, and as the one who hold Solomon's soul, William is the elector, the human with the ability to choose the next temporary emperor while Lucifer rests. Constantly worries about how to pay for his school fees.

- The Grand Duke of Hell, commander of the 36 armies of hell. A demon candidate to succeed the throne of the demon world while Lucifer slumbers. A nephilim. Calls himself "Dantalion Huber" while disguised at William's school. The 71st pillar of Soloman's 72 pillars. Followed by two bat-familiars, Amon and Mamon.

- Calls himself "Sitri Cartwright" while disguised at William's school. A fallen angel. The 12th pillar of Soloman. A viscount and Prince of Hell who reigns over 60 armies of Hell. A candidate to succeed the throne. Subordinate of Balberith. Has the face of a leopard and wings of a griffin, and can take the form of a handsome man or beautiful woman. He has the ability to stir up human desire and make women show themselves naked, if he so desired.

- Previous incarnation was the murderous general of Joan of Arc. Dead for ~400 years. Currently a subordinate to the Great Demon Duke Balberith. Is a nephilim.

- Dark-skinned woman. The Eastern Grand Duchess of Hell, and the leader of 40 armies. A grand demon considered to be as strong as Beelzebub. Ranked 29th in Hell. Previous incarnation was Hatshepsut, Queen of Egypt, ancestor of Solomon, who died of cavities.

- Loli-character. 77th in the demonic hierarchy, with a court rank of princess. Greatly infatuated with Dantalion.

- Friend to William. Is heavily interested in the arcane. Descended from merchants, his father gained a fortune trading spices and tea from India.

- Uncle to William Twining, also in charge of William's assets. Because his business fails, debt collectors take all possessions from the Twining estate. He disappears after bankruptcy. Is also an archaeologist.
