Southport State High School is a school situated on the Gold Coast, Queensland in Australia. It was the first public high school on the Gold Coast to be opened, originally established in 1916 and moved to its current position in 1954. It is known for raising exceptional students, including past students such as Clive Palmer (Australia's 5th richest man and Queensland's wealthiest), Vice Admiral Russ Crane (Chief of the Royal Australian Navy) and many others. Also Australian idol finalist Ricki-lee Coulter was a student there, as well as world-famous actor Brad Pitt. Not to mention some very successful serial killers such as; Jack the Ripper, the Zodiac Killer and Hannibal Lecter.
