Chris DeRose is an American author, lawyer and political consultant. His latest book, Congressman Lincoln: The Making of America's Greatest President is an account of Abraham Lincoln's one and only term in the United States Congress

Early life and education

Chris DeRose was born February 3, 1980 in North Riverside, Illinois.

He graduated with a B.A. in political science from Northern Illinois University in 2002 and J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2004.

Politics

DeRose volunteered on his first political campaign at the age of fifteen. He previously worked for former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Dennis Hastert. He has since served in a variety of roles for candidates in five different states, including serving as Director of Election Day Operations for Virginia Governor, Bob McDonnell in 2009 and managing the early efforts of Congressman Sean Duffy in 2010.[1]

DeRose's first book, Founding Rivals: Madison vs. Monroe, the Bill of Rights, and the Election that Saved a Nation, was named by The Washington Post as one of the "Best Political Books of 2011."[2]
