... But your writing style needs work. Seriously, would it kill you to learn how proper grammar works? That paragraph that you insist is the best thing for the 2014 V8 article is, in a word, rubbish. Read it out loud and you will see what I mean. You had two subjects in the sentence, which is a big no-no. So before you start lecturing people as to what is best for the article, I suggest you learn how to write an article first. V8 2014

Hi,

I appreciate your efforts to better the 2014 V8 Supercars season page, but I have reverted your edits again. You shared your reasons with me, so the least I can do is share mine with you.

Firstly, that column is going to remain blank for some time. Even if every co-driver is announced at Bathurst, the column is still going to remain blank for a month. Since it's unlikely that every co-driver will be announced at once, the bulk of that column could remain blank for the better part of a year. It's simply too early to create it. Rest assured that it will be added in due course.

Secondly, you will note that the current driver table only contains a few entries - and that teams with more than one car (like FPR) only have one driver included. This was done because it was felt that it was too soon to have a table full of blank entries - and that's for drivers who will contest the full season. You're looking to add a blank column for drivers who will only contest a handful if races a year from now.

Thirdly, if you look at the 2013 season page, you will see that endurance co-drivrrs are, in fact, included. They are in a collapsible table under the season driver table. This is different to the way it has been done in previous years, because the endurance races form their own championship-within-a-championship. The table is collapsible to keep the article from being dominated by large tables. This is mostly experimental for the 2013 page, but I imagine it will continue so long as the endurance races form a mini-championship. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 11:35, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

2014 International V8 Supercars Championship

No. No they aren't. It can wait until the 2014 season begins. --Falcadore (talk) 11:38, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

November 2013

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Holden Racing Team may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just [{{fullurl:Holden Racing Team|action=edit&minor=minor&summary=Fixing+typo+raised+by+%5B%5BUser%3ABracketBot%7CBracketBot%5D% the page] again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • For the endurance events, Brad Jones and [[Rickard Rydell]] (who was driving a [[Volvo 850]] for TWR in the [[1994 British Touring Car Championship season|

Alex Premat and context

Please stop removing context from the article. No, we do not mention how long each individual driver raced for each team. But what we do do is try to provide some context as to the driver's situation. For instance, in the case of Chad Mostert, we mention that he was loaned out to DJR during 2013. We do not just say that he replaces Will Davison.

Articles should be written in such a way that they are entirely self-contained. Someone with no knowledge of the sport should be able to click the random page function, land on the article, read it through and understand it. Given your preferred version of edits, the reader has no clue who Alex Premat is, except that he was replaced by Robert Dahlgren. And given your logic behind trimming down Premat's entry, we might as well cut the whole thing down to "Robert Dahlgren replaced Alex Premat", because if details of Premat's place in the sport are not important, then no driver should have any details attached to their entries.

The moral of the story is that context matters. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 11:16, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
