Hemerocoetes pauciradiatus is a duckbill of the genus Hemerocoetes, found only around the south east of the South Island of New Zealand, and around the Chatham Islands, on the continental shelf at depths of between 20 and 200 metres. Their length is between 10 and 25 centimetres.
Hemerocoetes pauciradiatus is very similar to the closely related opalfish.
