:::Well, I don't know what to tell you. You gave it a shot. I'm not entirely happy with anyone's behavior in this thread; what would be nice is a substantive discussion, but I am not sure where that should be started (well, not ANI, I know that much). Why don't you ask that other editor, Reyk, who seemed to agree with you? [[User:Drmies|Drmies]] ([[User talk:Drmies|talk]]) 03:26, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

Drmies, Thanks for unblocking.

As a neutral outsider, can you please help me to deal with this?

I'm now trying hard to stay calm, on topic, civil, and so forth. It ain't easy. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for disruptive editing. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Mark Arsten (talk) 06:45, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi 88, I'm sorry to see you blocked, but it was inevitable given the persistent reverting over that closure. I don't understand that in the first place--it's hardly an "IPs can't do that" thing, or even "normal editors can't do that", though the prerogative at an administrator's noticeboard should lie with the administrators. More importantly, your close was premature since the block was an essential part of the thread, so it just doesn't make sense to me why you'd revert and exclude the actual admin action. Pointing at the size of Mark Arsten's appendage is irrelevant, of course, but perhaps understandable; I'm sure it's huge and you were clearly frustrated. As you said, though, tomorrow's another day. Now I'm going to have a look at the other thread you were engaged in. Have a nice day, Drmies (talk) 17:29, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Drmies, I hope you're watching this page.
I really hope you do not close the ANI thread about masscreation, because I think there is something to be decided. Whether you agree or not, there's a fair number of people who think it is masscreation - therefore, the user needs to do a BRFA. So far, they have refused to do so and have indicated that they will carry on regardless.
If necessary, there could be a !vote on the ANI thread to decide if a BRFA is necessary. Although personally I can't see a need, because WP:MASSCREATION is nice and clear. Whether it's truly 'automatic' or not, it certainly fits the criteria. If the MASSCREATE policy is considered wrong, then of course that could be challenged elsewhere - but still, it's policy. It shouldn't be overridden for a single case without an exceptionally good IAR reason - and I'm not seeing that here.
Whether the user is actually using a program to create them, or is rapidly cutting and pasting into browser tabs, makes no difference - that was agreed in a previous arbcom case - I forget who; maybe betacommand or that guy who used to create millions of stubs (forgot his name).
I really do feel bullied by admins here. I made a perfectly reasonable and polite request about the mass-creation. If the user had not been an admin, I suspect other admins would have immediately blocked them while it was resolved - and that they'd have to do a BRFA so that people could discuss it. 88.104.19.233 (talk) 18:38, 17 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I started commenting so I'm not going to close it--that's how it works. I don't think your analysis is correct, though your invocation of MASSCREATION has, as I said elsewhere, some merit to it. (For the record, I wasn't aware until yesterday that Carlossuarez was an admin.) He's been doing this for years, and I'm sure he was baffled to get this question posed to him. It hasn't been an issue for years; I don't remember it ever having been an issue. In other words, his numerous creations are 'normal', for lack of a better term; as in, we're used to it. That doesn't mean it can't be questioned, but it does mean that admins will be less likely to pull the trigger on a block for someone who's been around and has done as much as him. Later, Drmies (talk) 00:59, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, but he really really should've just stopped to discuss it. That was pretty poor.
I guess he's stopped for now, but I suspect he'll just continue without doing a BRFA - thus it seems like ignoring policy. A BRFA is a logical. And the sources he's using are awful. 88.104.19.233 (talk) 02:19, 18 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
