Template:Unreviewed David Gere is an American film producer, actor, artist and business entrepreneur.

Biography

David was born and raised in Cromwell, Connecticut, and attended Cromwell High School. He later attended Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island on an academic and track scholarship. He has been recognized as a notable alum of both schools. David was signed to a modeling contract in NYC before he began acting. During that time he was featured in a European print campaign for GUESS Jeans. He soon transitioned to acting.[1]

In business, he later got involved with commercial real estate and development in Connecticut. This led to him creating small business ventures, before he delved back into the entertainment industry as a film producer, and then acting in more significant roles. David also owns a several well known bars, nightclubs and restaurants that have often been used for filming locations, celebrity appearances, and charitable events that have generated him exposure. Sequences from the successful horror anthology, Chilling Visions: 5 Senses of Fear were shot at David’s lounge, The Shadow Room, in Middletown, CT.[2]

David was awarded “Top 40 Under 40” by CT Magazine in January, 2014, a list of young entrepreneurs and successful business types.[3] An accomplished abstract painter, David’s work has been shown at galleries throughout the East Coast. Actress Anne Hathaway is rumored to have one of his portrait pieces. David is known for casting professional wrestlers in his films. This relationship led to professional wrestler Tommy Dreamer suggesting that David get involved with sports entertainment. At Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore 3, David debuted as his pro wrestling heel manger persona of DG HAVEN. He currently is active at the HOH and NEFW promotions, and has amassed a large following on social media as DG HAVEN. David holds an unusual national record for perfect attendance in public schools, from K – 12th grade. Upon his graduation from CHS, he was awarded a citation signed by the then Governor, Lowell P. Weiker, and also by the President of the United States, Bill Clinton.

Career

David is best known for his role as Frank Meltzer on the CW Network’s hit show Gossip Girl. David has appeared in numerous television shows and movies, including Ugly Betty, Rocky Balboa, Self Storage, Army of the Damned and A Bet’s A Bet. In 2014, David co-starred in the dark noir thriller, Buddy Hutchins, with Jamie Kennedy, Sally Kirkland, and Sara Malakul Lane. The story of the film was highlighted in an Entertainment Tonight piece that aired on February 22, 2014, as the film was executive produced by the youngest movie producer in history, Richard Switzer, who is David’s producing partner at Switzer Entertainment Group, LLC.[4] David is a producing partner at the Woodhaven Production company, which has had a run of successful films, including Infected, Self Storage and Army of the Damned.[5]
