METZ is a noise rock band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.[2] The band consists of guitarist and vocalist Alex Edkins, bassist Chris Slorach and drummer Hayden Menzies.[3]
Formed in 2008, they released their eponymous debut album on the Sub Pop label in 2012.[4] The album was named to the 2013 Polaris Music Prize shortlist on July 16, 2013.[5]
On Feburary 17, 2015, the band announced a new album, METZ II, with the release of its first track, "Acetate," and an accompanying music video; the album will be released May 5, 2015 in North America and the previous day elsewhere.[6]
