The expansion of the article by RJP in 2006 ought to have been challenged long ago. It was poorly referenced, written from a mainly English point of view, and contained a large amount of irrelevant information about English history. The revision has tried to address some of these problems. [[User:Mzilikazi1939|Mzilikazi1939]] ([[User talk:Mzilikazi1939|talk]]) 00:36, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

== When was Étaples annexed into France? ==

Étaples like most of the abodes about there, was not always within France and culturally even longer non-French. Can the aforesaid get a byword? Weird it's been left out of it's history.

Contradictory information

Whilst the geographical coordinates in the top-right corner of this article give 50˚30'51"N 1˚37'17"E, whilst the bullet point list (which should really be in an appropriate template) says 50°31'07"N 1°38'29"E. French wikipedia gives 50°31’07"N 1°38’ 29"E. Since I know nothing about the town (having come across the article during research), I cannot fix the problem myself. Would somebody appropriate address this. --Svm2 20:50, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The bullet points have now been replaced with an infobox (thanks me!), but the coordinates contradiction (described below) is still there. If nobody objects in the next 48 hours, I will use the coordinates as given by French wikipedia as definitive. --Svm2 16:14, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The action described in my previous entry has been executed. If you would like to see for yourself the two conflicting coordinates on a map, click here (the coordinates used in this article as well as on French wikipedia is the one towards the top with the play symbol in a green background), and make a case for either, please do so on this discussion page at any point. May I also remind anybody creating articles about French communes to use the appropriate template (which is found on this article) instead of making a bullet point list or a custom table. --Svm2 18:25, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
