The club was formed on 4 November 2013 to provide continuity for the players, staff and supporters left without a club following the liquidation of [[Hinckley United F.C.|Hinckley United]] in October 2013. The Under 21 squad headed by Neil Lyne stayed together and continued to train and played a programme of friendly games for the remainder of the 2013/14 season. The Youth team took over the fixtures of the demised Hinckley United Youth Team and carried on against all the odds to win the Midland Floodlit Youth League Premier Division title and the Leicestershire County Floodlit Youth Cup. The development teams continued in the Midland Junior Premier League at Under 14, 15 and 16 levels and all finished the season admirably.
