:AfD: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Club Penguin (second nomination)
*Content prior to deletion can be viewed here.
*Previous deletion review (and the keep deleted template on the project page - until a few minutes ago) pointed the reviewers to the wrong Afd - Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Club Penguin.
*The article does state it's importance - an MMORPG with over 1 million players.
*The phenomenon has grown considerably since the first and second AfD.
*The second AfD starts with "delete" comments, and as the article is improved changes to "Stong Keep"s by 31st of the month.
*There is clearly significant interest in that the article had 483 edits in it's fairly short life.
*This article will encourage younger wikipedians (OK more copy-editing required).
*That the article is missed is shown by the large number of edits on the talk page before that too was deleted.
*Club Penguin is extensively commented on in the media.
*While Miniclip.com (Alexa ran c. 200) is the main domain, even Club-penguin.com has an Alexa rank varying from 6-9000.]
*Whether CP conforms to web notability guidelines it is an important cultural phenomonon that children of this generation will remember. It's also part of the extension of MMORPGs to younger and younger people, and is important and notable in that respect.
*Er.. that's it. Rich Farmbrough 22:25 15 August 2006 (GMT).
**Undelete - I don't know what the quality of the article was, but Club Penguin is definitely a popular online game for kids. It easily has a crapload more players than a hell of a lot of webcomics/forums/blogs on Wikipedia. I only found out what this was about a week ago from my kid cousin. The players of this game are teenaged and under, it's aimed at kids, I really doubt they've got the hang of Wikipedia AFD. - Hahnchen 16:22, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
*Sounds likely to be notable, if you can provide links to some of the extensive media comments it clearly should be undeleted. Eluchil404 17:43, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
**Just did a quick look on Google, pulled up nothing on Google News, but there is this entry at Business Week Online about Club Penguin, but it's one of those blog cum articles which you get from "tech savvy" news agencies these days. Still, it's probably better than 99% of the List of webcomics could come up with. - Hahnchen 01:53, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
*Comment: I don't really have a say either way but Club Penguin is very popular and I can see the page if recreated being a very large vandal/troll magnet. *Endorse Closure Valid AfD. If someone wants to create a new article it might be a good idea to start on a userpage and solicit feedback from experienced editors before going live. That's what page protection is for. It doen't mean there shall never be an article on that subject, it just means we're tired of seeing the same ol' crap being reposted. ~ trialsanderrors 17:41, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
