HH Azur is the Olympic mount of McLain Ward. The duo has been named onto the US Olympic Show Jumping team and will compete at the Games in Rio de Janeiro in August of 2016.
Details
HH Azur is affectionately known as Annie to those who know her best. The 2006 Belgian Warmblood mare (Thunder Van De Zuuthoeve - Sion Van De Zuuthoeve, Sir Lui) is owned by Double H Farm in partnership with Francois Mathy[1]. Along with being an exceptionally talented jumper, Annie also has a lovely personality. According to her grooms, she is friendly and will come say hello upon entering the barn. [2] She is cared for by a team of grooms including Lee McKeever, Chris Cook, Sean Kissane, Kirsty and Kelly Massari.

Fun Facts
- She likes to eat the crust of pizza like a true American girl.
- Her grooms have always seen lots of promise in her, even in the early days of caring for her.
- She goes in very plain tack, a simple twisted snaffle for jumping and plain figure eight bridle for the flat.
- She spends a lot of time outside being a true horse.
- She is not a fan of the ticklish act of clipping her body.
- She is very close with one of Ward's other mounts, HH Carlos Z.
- She is known to be calm and level headed.
- She will get hot when it comes to the jumps[2]
