Antelope Valley High School is located in Lancaster, California and is part of the Antelope Valley Union High School District. It is located in the Mojave Desert. During the 1960s, the high school served as meeting ground for musicians Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart (Don Van Vliet), Rockette Morton (Mark Boston) and Zoot Horn Rollo (Bill Harkleroad).

News

The school is currently (2006) under probation by the school district by not meeting the average grades for the students. Also in the 2005 school year it was the host of a riot between Hispanic and black students. The riot created tension between the two groups and to this day they still have their scuffles here and there. The school's solution is more security and sheriffs on campus plus the aid of the Lancaster police department's quick aid to any call of that nature.

Life at AVHS

This is the worst school in the antelope valley by reputation infamous for it's fights, and horrible quality in academics. A place where teachers are working hard to improve the school's scores and reputation, but without much support from many in the community. It is uncivilized to the extent of insanity and is home to juvenile delinquents. The school's classes are tremendously overcrowded, but know one seems to care.
