Roland Bartetzko (born 1970 in Würselen) is a German soldier that volunteered for the Bosnian Croat side (the HVO) in the Bosnian War (1992–95) and the ethnic Albanian rebels (the KLA) in the Kosovo War (1998–99). In 2002 he was found guilty of an April 2001 bomb attack targeting Serbs in Pristina that left one dead and four injured, allegedly due to anti-Serb sentiment and as a revenge attack. He lives in Kosovo, where he is known as Shaban, and works as a lawyer. He writes articles on military affairs. He is married to an Albanian woman.
