Amber Marshall (born June 2, 1988) is a Canadian actress, singer and equestrian best known for playing Amy Fleming on the CBC series Heartland.

Biography

Born and raised in London, Ontario. She has appeared in numerous film and television productions. As of 2016, she lives on a farm ranch outside Calgary, Alberta with her husband Shawn Turner and their animals. Amber married Shawn, a photographer, on July 27, 2013 after they got engaged in Spring 2012.[1]

A former veterinary assistant[2] who is passionate about all animals, Marshall has been around horses as long as she can remember. She has been riding since she could walk and says that the two things she loves the most are "acting and horses" and they have come together to create this dream role of Amy Fleming on the Heartland TV and book series.[3]

In between filming seasons of Heartland, Amber Marshall helps out at a local veterinary clinic and spends time with her many animals on her farm ranch near Calgary, Alberta. She has horses, dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits and an alpaca.[4] Amber has also volunteered at a Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre where she took raptor classes, to work with falcons and hawks.

Amber Marshall plays Amy Fleming on Heartland.[5][6] The TV series is based on the 25-novel series written by Lauren Brooke. The series started in 2007 with Coming Home and Season 10 premiered October 2, 2016 on CBC. The television series, filmed in High River Alberta, is about a girl named Amy Fleming living in the fictional town of Hudson Alberta. Her family owns a horse ranch called Heartland, where they have a long tradition of healing horses. Amy helps abused horses by using psychologically based therapies instead of rough handling or force. Throughout this series she finds healing along with the horses that she treats every day. Marshall has also won the Canadian Screen Star Award for this role.

Marshall was nominated for a Los Angeles-based Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Movie, Miniseries or Special for Leading Young Actress[7] for The Elizabeth Smart Story, a movie-of-the-week based on the true story of the 2002 kidnapping of Utah teenager Elizabeth Smart.[8]

She has had regular roles in television series, The Power Strikers and Dark Oracle and has guest appeared on different series, including Doc.
