The Contaminated Blood Scandal Inquiry is a British public inquiry into the Tainted Blood Scandal, which is thought to have killed approximately 2,000 people throughout the United Kingdom (Exact figures are not known) and was announced by Prime Minister Theresa May on 11th July 2017.[1]
A Chairman has not yet been appointed as required under the Inquiries Act.
Chronology
On 3rd August 2017, Collins Law Solicitors, representing victims and families, wrote to the Prime Minister stating that their clients wanted a full public inquiry, a chair appointed as soon as possible and that the Department of Health should not be involved.[2]

On 3rd November Damian Green published a statement which said that the Cabinet Office and not the Department of Health would now be the sponsoring Government Department to the Inquiry[7].
