Introduction
DAV foundation is a Blockchain based open source global transportation company [1]. It builds decentralized systems with autonomous vehicles for global transportation facilities [2].
DAV foundation has a decentralized transportation system, which enables all kinds of transportation companies to join the network [3]. This system can work with autonomous vehicles, trucks, drones, cars, and rovers [4]. It aims to build an infrastructure for the internet of transportation that enables users to access a network of autonomous vehicles using the tokens generated in the system [5].
History
DAV system is a short form of Decentralized Autonomous Vehicle system [2]. It was founded in January 2017 in by Noam Copel, the CEO of the company. Tal Ater is one of the co-founders and the CTO of the company [1].
The foundation released and published its first code on GitHub [1]. It also released its drone delivery application [1]. The company was then granted non-profit organizations status in Switzerland [1].
Board of Advisors
As of 2018, DAV Networks has the former CTO of General Motors, Dr. Alan Messer and the for director of autonomous ststem at UPS, Jerome Ferguson on its Board of Advisors. [6] Commander Scott Horowitz, a former astronaut of NASA is also an advisor. [3]
DAV technology
Decentralized Autonomous Vehicle system uses open source software, the blockchain and transportation technologies to create a DAV network [2]. The network provides a completely autonomous system to deliver different kinds of services to the user [7].
