Revision as of 00:32, 12 June 2002

The 2002 Football World Cup is being held in South Korea and Japan from May 31 to June 30. It is the 17th edition of the tournament. For the first time in history it is being organised by two countries, and also for the first time it is not being held in Europe or one of the Americas.

32 teams have qualified and 8 groups of 4 teams were drawn in December 2001. From each group, the two top teams enter the 1/8 finals.
