James, this is one of the reasons it is unwise to send religious holiday greetings to editors you do not know well, no matter how good your intentions may have been, as I mentioned to you before. Also, Tinjaw and any editor has the right to ask you not to post on his or her talk page, and you should respect any such request. Failure to do so is itself a violation of policy. Also, posting a complaint to your talk page is not vandalism. Even [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:James_The_Bond_007&diff=931227062&oldid=931221342 this post] while [[WP:CIVIL|uncivil]] is not vandalism. Posting templated warnings in response to such posts is not likely to be helpful. As Tinjaw has requested you not to post on this talk page in future, or to interact with him or her, you should strictly refrain from doing so, and from pinging Tinjaw. If you two happen to edit the same articles you might happen to interact on article talk pages, but you should not refer to this interaction, nor devote special attention to Tinjaw.

Mike, When an editor removes content from that editor's talk page, there is really no valid reason to revert that removal, and doing so is generally a violation of policy. Even block notices ar not normally restored after the editor affected chooses to remove them. Removal is taken to mean that the editor in question has read the notice. Because of this, it is also usually unwise to remove messages from another user's talk page unless you are sure the other editor has read them, and would prefer you to remove them.

Tinjaw, I included messages to Mike and James in this post so that you could see the advise/instructions I am giving them. I hope this incident can now be over, and there will be no need to escalate it. FYI, I am in a mentor/mentee relationship with James, and i take limited responsibility for guiding him in proper Wikipedia ethics and conduct. If you have any further problems with James, feel free to ping me. Your interaction with User:James The Bond 007 and User:Mike Rosoft

Hello, Tinjaw.

I am sorry that you were disturbed by the christmas message that User:James The Bond 007 posted on your talk page. I am particularly sorry that User:Mike Rosoft reverted your removal of that message. Yiu ahve the right to remove any message from your user talk page, and such removals should not normally be reverted as per the user page guideline (as you may know). However, such a message is not vandalism. Describing it as such is, technically, casting aspersions and is also a violation of policy. Please be careful in the use of the term "vandalism" in future. Unjustified use may be considerd as a personal attack

Even this post while uncivil is not vandalism.

DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 21:08, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
