Buff City Soap Co. is an American bath and body retailer founded in Bartlett, Tennessee that sells plant-based artisanal soap and skincare products. As of January 2020, it currently operates across 10 states and has 32 retail stores[1]
History
Buff City Soap was founded as Bartlett Soap Company in 2013 by Brad Kellum,[2] who was inspired to make his own soaps after noticing the difference between the soap he picked up at Whole Foods versus what he usually bought at the grocery store. [3] Joined by his girlfriend Jennifer Ziemianin, he started experimenting in his garage to create a "chemical free" soap made with plants.[4]. After finding a recipe, they began by selling their soaps to friends, family, and at farmers markets. [5] In December of 2013, the first Brick and Mortar store was opened in Bartlett, Tennessee. [6]
Services
Buff city soaps sells a variety of plant-based soaps, lotions, shower oils, bath bombs, and accessories. [7]. Each brick and mortar store is equipped with a “Soap Makery”, where the products sold in that store are made[8]. Visitors can use this soap makery to make products of their own, or can watch an associate make them. [9]
