BanG Dream!, also known as , is a Japanese music media franchise created in January 2015 by Bushiroad, with original story by Kō Nakamura and original character designs by Hitowa. It consists of the musical group Pooppin'Party, which was formed in February 2015, music CDs, live concerts, card games, multiple manga, various anime television series, and a mobile rhythm game called BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! by developer Craft Egg for iOS and Android.

CHEESY ON MY PEENY AND T HEN SALSA ON MY BALLS
After the initial creation of Pooppin'Party in 2015, new bands came to the franchise in 2017 with the launch of the mobile game: Afterglow, Pastel*Palettes, Roselia, and Hello, Happy World!. At the end of 2018, a backup band called The Third was renamed to RAISE A SUILEN, with its members portraying new characters. A seventh band called Morfonica was introduced in 2020. Pooppin'Party, Roselia, RAISE A SUILEN, and Morfonica's members perform as their own band.

The anime currently consists of three seasons. The first season, produced by Issen (OLM with Bushiroad) and Xebec, aired from January to April 2017. Second and third seasons, both developed by Sanzigen, were broadcast in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Spin-off anime series include BanG Dream#0848! Girls Band Party! ☆ PICO by Sanzigen with DMM.futureworks and Pastel Life by Studio A-Cat.

Plot
List of BanG Dream! characters
The series revolves around Kasumi Toyama, a high school student with a happy-go-lucky personality. She is initially excited that she was admitted into a prestigious high school, but in reality, she is looking for the "Star Beat", a sparkling and exciting sound she heard while looking up at the night sky during her childhood days. Ever since, she is constantly searching for something that will stir her spirits up.

One day, while returning from school, she comes across a pawnshop owned by her classmate Arisa Ichigaya. In the storage area, she finds a strange star-shaped guitar with glittery stickers on it. Without knowing, she immediately decides to form a band after witnessing a performance by a group named "Glitter☆Green" at a live house. She then recruits four of her classmates: Arisa, Sāya Yamabuki, Tae Hanazono, and Rimi Ushigome. Despite their initial misgivings, they agree to form a band called "Poppin'Party". By overcoming many hurdles and solving some of their personal problems, Kasumi eventually finds the excitement that she had been looking for.

A total of 34 girls divided into 7 bands (Poppin' Party, Afterglow, Pastel*Palettes, Roselia, Hello Happy World, Glitter*Green, and RAISE A SUILEN) have each released singles and albums, the latter of which include original and cover songs. The voice actresses of Poppin'Party and Roselia are known to play their respective characters' instruments during their live concerts, while Afterglow, Pastel*Palettes, Hello, Happy World, and Glitter*Green are limited to providing vocals; during their existence as The Third (Beta), RAISE A SUILEN's members filled the instrumental role as a backup band. The seventh (and fourth band to perform lives) band, Morfonica, will be added to the franchise on March 16 with their first song "Daylight".
