Brandlive is a Software as a service (SaaS) company based in Portland, Oregon. The enterprise platform is primarily used for commerce, marketing, and product training.
History
Brandlive was created in 2010 by Ben McKinley and current CEO Fritz Brumder as a product of Cascade Web Development, as a way to incorporate live video into online shopping.[2] The idea for Brandlive came to Brumder when he was using Skype to see a friend's new retail store in New York City, and made a purchase as a result of the demonstration via live video.[3]
In 2012, Brandlive was established as its own separate entity.
In May 2013, the company received $1.6 million in Series A funding from Oregon Angel Fund,[4] Angel Oregon,[5] Portland Seed Fund,[6] among others.
In September 2013, Brandlive was announced as a finalist for the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network Tom Holce Entrepreneurship Awards.[7]
In 2018 Brandlive grew to $3.0 million in revenue, up 56% from $1.9 million in 2017. As of 2018 Brandlive has 30 employees and 100 customers.[8]
Products
Brandlive is a Real Time Interaction platform that combines live video, chat-based social interaction, and custom conversion tools to create individual, customized event pages. The software is web-based and can scale to unlimited audience sizes.[9]
Commerce applications attempt to replicate and improve consumer experience commonly experienced via televised home shopping or retail store demonstration. Common marketing applications are presenting products in real time over the Internet, engaging industry leaders and influencers, and gathering feedback and reviews in a virtual focus group-style setting. Through B2B applications, companies can train supply chain partners on the latest product benefits and features, as well as conduct corporate communications such as company town halls.[10]
