William Q De Funiak was an American writer and law academic who wrote what was probably the first published American-British, British-American Dictionary. It was called exactly that; American-British, British-American Dictionary and first published in the sixties. Funial travelled abroad to lecture and study and visited Britain a good dea. This led to his dictionary being produced.
It is still very useful and available. However the "Tips for travellers" saection at the back of the book is partly out of date.
