The 1994 Anti-Urdu riots were a series of Hindu-Muslim clashes which took place in Jagajeevanram Nagar in the city of Bangalore in India in 1994. The riots were are believed to be a reaction against telecast of Urdu news on the India's national television channel, Doordarshan at prime-time. The riots resulted in over 25 deaths.[1][2][3][4]
