Hi, I see you're back to editing eXile-related articles again. I just wanted to point out that you should always add new material to talk pages at the bottom, and that you should put a new topic marker in when necessary by enclosing a title in two pairs of equal signs. This is standard practice, and not following it makes it harder for others to read the page. Thanks! [[User:Dsol|Dsol]] 18:48, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

:Oh yes, and one more thing, please sign your talk page posts using 4 tildes: <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>. This allows people to know that it was you who made the post, and not someone else pretending to be you, and also lets people know the time of your comment. This is offical policy, because it makes reading talk pages much easier. You've been around for a while, so you should really be following the rules. [[User:Dsol|Dsol]] 18:51, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

Peter:

Please consider reflecting on whether your edits to [[The eXile]] and related articles are really intended to improve the articles, or to reflect a personal (perhaps justified) bias. The impression that most of of the other editors is that it is the latter. (I also get this impression, and I do not have any personal stake in the dispute.) I believe that you are a reasonable guy who simply wants to protect his reputation, and not a simple vandal&mdash;but part of being a reasonable guy is not acting unilaterally and against the consensus reached by other reasonable people who are trying to build a fair and neutral article. The talk page is the right place to have this dialog, not the article edit box.

Wikipedia does have recourse against unreasonable people, but everyone involved would rather reach an informed and rational consensus (which includes reflecting your own personal expertise on the subject, for which we are grateful) than to go that route. Unfortunately, your actions are so frustrating to the other editors that this is in danger of happening. <font size=-2>&mdash;&nbsp;[[User:Brighterorange|<font style="padding : 0px 1px 1px 1px; border : 1px solid #FFE7B0; background: #FFFFFF ; color: #FF9600">brighterorange</font>]] ([[User_talk:Brighterorange|talk]])</font> 02:42, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

Revision as of 02:42, 12 November 2005

Please stop vandalizing the eXile page. Merely disagreeing with content does not give you the right to delete it. You must go through the normal channels, like discussing the changes in the talk page; which was already done, and the consensus was against you. Your attempts to have the entire page deleted have also been turned down by the community. If you continue to disagree with the common opinion, try to bring forth an intelligent discussion, rather than continuing to vandalize wikipedia and basilessly claiming libel.

Please stop. If you continue to blank pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Titoxd(?!?) 00:48, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This has gone through channels. With the exeception of "Clarence Thomas" and "Dsol" the consensus is that there is nothing notable about the exile making an unverified accusation (i.e. libel)against me. So it does not belong in an encyclopedia.

"Dsol" and "Clarence Thomas" however keep on reinserting the material.

This IP has been blocked for 24 hours. If you have issues with The eXile, please contribute more constructively than simply deleting content. tregoweth 05:26, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

regarding your edit summary, "Libel Judgement - please leave out the victim's name - Any victim of the eXile's libel would understand," I think you should understand that this kind of thing doesn't matter on wikipedia. things are run here by user consensus and by wikipedia's policies, and not in accordance with the feelings or understanding of arbitrary individuals or groups. you can accept that, or you can keep edit warring till the admins ban you (and if need be, your isp) forever.

personally, I hope you choose the former, since I want the eXile article to improve, and you have been helpful already in finding and correcting facts there. Dsol 19:09, 3 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

editing talk pages

Hi, I see you're back to editing eXile-related articles again. continuing exile dispute

Peter:

Please consider reflecting on whether your edits to The eXile and related articles are really intended to improve the articles, or to reflect a personal (perhaps justified) bias. The impression that most of of the other editors is that it is the latter. (I also get this impression, and I do not have any personal stake in the dispute.) I believe that you are a reasonable guy who simply wants to protect his reputation, and not a simple vandal—but part of being a reasonable guy is not acting unilaterally and against the consensus reached by other reasonable people who are trying to build a fair and neutral article.

— brighterorange (talk) 02:42, 12 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
