Oregon Community Credit Union, which was founded as Lane Federal Credit Union and then was called U-Lane-O from 1981 to 2003,8,10 is a member-owned credit union based in Eugene, Oregon, USA. It was established in 1956 by a group of employees working for the State of Oregon who "pooled their money together in a shoe box."5 It is now the third largest credit union in Oregon, allowing people in ten different Oregon counties to become members.5 As of May 31, 2010, it has $928,523,755 in total assets2, an increase of about 1.87% from December 31, 2009. The credit union has seven branches in Eugene, Oregon, two in suburban Springfield, and one in Salem. Its corporate offices are at 2880 Chad Drive, Eugene, OR 97408. Its mailing address, however, is P.O. Box 77002, Eugene, OR 97401-0146. It can be reached by phone in Eugene at 541 687 2347, at 503 588 2347 in Salem, at 503 295 2347 in Portland, and at 541 484 1100 or 800 948 3425 for phone banking.4

It publishes a quarterly newsletter, The Oregonizer, available to members in their financial statements and online.6 Each newsletter includes a message from its CEO, Mandy Jones, and features articles.

In 2003, the credit union considered merging with then-Portland Teachers Credit Union (which is now OnPoint Community Credit Union), the largest credit union in the state.8, 9 The two ended up not merging.

The University of Oregon (UO) and the credit union partnered to offer UO students a $4,800 annual scholarship in the Oregon Community Credit Union Scholarship Program. Any enrolled UO student who graduated from high school in one of the ten Oregon counties in which the credit union's member service is available and who had at least a 3.50 GPA was eligible for the scholarship. The offer ended when applications were accepted by April 15, 2010.7

In May 2010, FirstClose, part of First Lenders Data, Inc., a company based in Austin, Texas that offers mortgage service options, announced that Oregon Community Credit Union had become its latest client, with the credit union looking to improve its mortgage offers to members.11
