Jesko Friedrich (born April 2, 1974 in Gießen[1]) is a German actor, editor und author.

Biography

Friedrich moved at the age of four with his family to Lübeck.

Friedrich started writing jokes for the show Freitag Nacht News ("Friday Night News") in 1999 to 2006.[1] After an internship at NDR Television starting in 2001,[1] Friedrich was employed as editor of the Extra 3 show.[1] Beginning in 2003, together with Dennis Kaupp, he contributed to the regular segment Johannes Schlüter. Friedrich played the role of Johannes Schlüter, a character with a new job in every episode (for example, CDU speaker, bush pilot, peddler of flags ready to be burned by protesters), who was interviewed by Kaupp. The segment was awarded a Grimme-Preis in 2009.[1]

From 2005 to 2008 Friedrich and Kaupp produced their own comedy show Sehr witzig ("Very Funny") for the NDR. Both acted as directors, authors and actors. Since 2009 he once again has worked together with Kaupp on the show Dennis und Jesko,[1] a successor to Sehr witzig. He also had a role in the short film trilogy Eine Nacht in Wilhelmsburg ("A Night in Wilhemsburg") (2005, 2006 und 2007).[2]
