Founded in 2011, but unofficially open until late July 2016 for business, Sacred Lotus has been through many trial-and-error processes before finalizing the current logo, and types of clothing styles to be produced. The shop is currently being controlled by a one-person business as of opening in July 2016, but has had the gracious support of many independent photographers and businesses to help get it to where it is today. One of the first public appearances for Sacred Lotus was at the [http://www.thinklocalsantacruz.org/ Think Local First] Independent Business expo in Santa Cruz, followed by a radio interview by the Busy Bee on [https://www.kzsc.org/ KZSC] 88.1 FM. A second pop up shop was arranged at the Maker's Market at [http://urbansanctuarysc.com/ Urban Sanctuary] in Santa Cruz.
