Innisdale Secondary School

Innisdale is an Ontario secondary school located in the south end of Barrie. It serves as an educational facility to over 1700 students in grades 9-12 and a working environment to over 100 full time staff.

About

Innisdale is home to the Invaders - a loud, proud and close-knit group of students and teachers who wear their school colours, orange and blue, with pride and satisfaction.

History

Innisdale was founded 25 years ago.

The Invaders

Innisdale has a very unique mascot; the 'Invaders'. The visual image of 'the invader' is a orange and blue alien type creature in medival armor, somewhat reminisant of Marvin the martian.

Special Courses

Innisdale offers students several courses which offer unique and innovative learning experiences.

Global

Innisdale is home to one of the most innovative courses in Ontario. In Global Perspectives, Grade 11 students will broaden their understanding of the world around them while learning in a unique classroom environment. This course is a fully integrated 5 credit package which includes: English, Politics, World History, Philosophy and Art. During the semester, students get to travel to a developing country for two weeks, and to Germany for a whole month.

Sports & Activities

Innisdale is home to many extracurricular sports including: football, basketball, volleyball, rugby, tennis, golf, soccer, curling, Nordic skiing and other activities including innisdale's five bands - jr. and sr. stage band, jr. and sr. concert band and a show band, a sign language club, and a wonderful communications technology course. Some of Innisdale's clubs include DECA (organization), Divergent thinkers, warhammer 40k, G-Force(leave your pencil crayons at home), and other interesting clubs and commities.
